About the Institute
A 636-bed teaching hospital with a 56-year legacy
Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Medical College (HBTMC) and Dr. Rustom Narsi Cooper Municipal General Hospital is the fourth medical college of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). Established in 1969 as a community hospital and upgraded to a full medical college in 2015, the institution serves the densely-populated western suburbs of Mumbai with affordable secondary and tertiary-care services.
The college runs MBBS and DNB postgraduate programmes affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
