Statutory & Advisory Committees
The institute is governed by 12 statutory and advisory committees mandated by the NMC, NBE, MUHS and other regulators. Each committee opens its own page with purpose, mandate, full member list and contact details.
Ethics →
The Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) has a primary duty to safeguard the rights, safety and welfare of research participants. The IEC convenes regular meetings to assess research proposals, offering recommendations to investigators to ensure ethical standards before granting approval. Approval from the IEC is mandatory for biomedical and health research at the institute.

The Library Committee oversees the central library's resources, acquisitions and services, ensuring students and faculty have access to up-to-date textbooks, journals and digital databases.
Curriculum →
The Curriculum Committee plans, implements and monitors the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum prescribed by the NMC, coordinating across departments for integrated teaching, assessment and the academic calendar.
Local Management →
The Local Management Committee provides administrative oversight and governance for the institution, advising on infrastructure, finance, staffing and policy in coordination with MCGM.
Grievance Redressal (GRC) →
As per NBE guidelines, it is mandatory to have a Grievance Redressal Committee. The GRC provides students, residents and staff a fair, confidential mechanism to raise and resolve grievances in a time-bound manner.

This committee ensures a campus free from caste-based discrimination, in line with UGC/NMC regulations. It receives complaints, promotes equal opportunity, and takes preventive and remedial action.
Anti-Ragging →
Ragging is strictly prohibited. The Anti-Ragging Committee enforces a zero-tolerance policy as per UGC regulations and Supreme Court directives, monitoring hostels and campus, and acting swiftly on any complaint.

The Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (PSHWW) / Internal Complaints Committee functions as per the POSH Act, 2013. It provides a safe workplace, receives complaints of sexual harassment, and ensures fair, confidential and time-bound inquiry.
Operation Theatre →
The Operation Theatre Committee frames and monitors OT protocols, scheduling, sterilisation, safety and equipment maintenance across all surgical specialities.
Hospital Infection Control →
The Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC) monitors and prevents healthcare-associated infections across wards, ICUs and operation theatres. It frames protocols for hand hygiene, sterilisation, bio-medical waste and antibiotic stewardship per NABH/MCGM guidelines.
AirBorne Infection Control →
The AirBorne Infection Control Committee implements measures to reduce transmission of airborne infections (such as tuberculosis) through administrative, environmental and respiratory-protection controls, in coordination with the NTEP programme.
Pharmacovigilance →
The Pharmacovigilance Committee (AMC under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India) monitors, reports and analyses Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) to promote safe and rational use of medicines across the hospital.
